携帯電話が一般的になる以前のことです。市場には家庭用電話機が溢れ、技術とデザインの競争は激化していました。日進月歩の技術開発を反映しながら新しいデザインを開発することは、その足並みがなかなか一致せず、時間的にも極めて難しいものでした。その問題を解決するために、電話機のかたちを変えることなく、新しい機能を付加できるものを考えました。新機能ボタンを増やすためのグリッドで覆われた表面、新しいメカを組み込むための余裕のスペースを見えない裏側に確保しています。

Before the onset of mobile phones, the market was overflowed with household telephones competing in technology and design. It is difficult to develop new design that keeps pace with the constant advance in technology, especially in terms of speed. To solve this problem, I designed a telephone that does not need to change its shape with each functional invention. The surface covered with a grid allows for additional keys and extra invisible space is available in the back of the phone to insert new mechanism.
