オブジェクトとしての文字が動くことは、普通のことではありません。ひとつのかたちが、別のものに変身することは、ガンダムに代表される日本の玩具技術を世界へ広めた発明でもあったのです。個人的にいくつかのアルファベットを「変身する文字彫刻」として制作していましたから、CからSへと変身するアイデアをトロフィーに応用しました。

It is unusual that a letter as an object can move and change its form. It was Gundam, a Japanese toy company, which invented and spread the idea of transformable objects. I had been making “transformable alphabet sculptures” for myself, so I used the idea of the letter C transforming into the letter S for the trophy.
