無駄をそぎ落とした後に現れる清々しい素朴なかたちを求めて、スケッチをするうちに、描かれたスケッチのストロークに、文字のアウトラインを見て、それをそのままロゴのデザインにしようと考えました。 デザインの過程で現れたかたちに、素のようなものを感じ取ったからです。 完成していない、デザインの出発点で方向性を見いだせないでいるロゴのかたちにすでに素朴な美しい存在を見つけた瞬間でした。

I was making sketches searching for a form of refreshing simplicity, free from all excesses. In the strokes of my rough sketch I saw the outline of the letters and decided to use it as a logo as it is. I felt something very pure and essential in the form created in the process of design. It was the moment I recognized the simple beauty in the form of a logo, still incomplete without a direction and at the starting point of design.
