北海道新幹線の新駅である新函館北斗駅にルーチェ・アルテとして手吹きガラスとLEDによる新しいステンドグラスの作品を制作しました。過去のステンドグラス作品の枠を破り、矩形や円の額縁から解放された新たな挑戦で、珍しいものと自負しています。原画制作には、いつも通りに即興性と偶然性を取り入れました。谷口吉生さん設計の秋田市中央図書館(1982)以来の私にとって2作目の大きなステンドグラス制作となりました。
I created a new stained glass artwork using hand-blown glass and LED lights at the new Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, a new station on the Hokkaido Shinkansen line. Breaking away from the traditional rectangular or circular frames of stained glass, this piece represents a new challenge, and I am proud of its uniqueness. As always, I incorporated spontaneity and randomness into the original artwork. This is my second major stained glass project since the Akita City Central Library (1982), designed by Yoshio Taniguchi.
